External HDD Doesn't Get Unmounted Properly During Reboot

not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but I'll try anyway. Recently got into building my own home server and Linux, but is currently running into this problem.

I'm running everything using Docker Compose and on an external HDD, let's call it "exthdd". Now the problem is, when I restart Ubuntu, I noticed in the Media folder, there's now exthdd and exthdd1. When my containers start up automatically, it's looking to exthdd, which is now empty because the drive is mounted at exthdd1 now.

To fix it, I have to stop all my containers, eject the external drive, remove exthdd manually, then plug in the external drive and start up the containers again.

How can I fix this?
